Burnt Meadow Stables

The facility offers a newly renovated barn with 10x12 box stalls with rubber mats and open spacious aisle ways. The property has a spectacular view of Bald Ledge and trails that lead to thousands of acres of forest. Attached to the barn is a well lit indoor arena with plenty of room, 160x72. An outdoor ring is also on the property with a full jump course (seasonal).

 

 

I am sure everyone can relate to uneasy feelings that usually accompanies meeting someone for the first time. Wondering who they are, how they will interact with you, what their personality is like, and what the relationship will be, be it business, friend, community, or just social. Well we had the opportunity to meet Sherry for a wonderful reason.

Horseback Riding Lessons.

I guess we should introduce ourselves, Destiny (10), Shontell (13), and Bill (27). Were we nervous about meeting Sherry? Sure for about the first five minutes. After that it was as if we had known her always. Sherry has such a wonderful way of making you feel welcome. She has a personality that is magical, cheerful, and inviting. Not only were we relaxed in that first meeting but we could not wait to come back and start our lessons. All the way home we shared thoughts about how lucky we were to have heard about her. Over the next six months we would learn just how lucky we are. Each of us is very different in our needs and level of learning. I have a disability and need to learn a little differently than my friends. What impresses me that most is that I feel no different than my friends. At Burnt Meadow Stables we are all treated the same. We share in quality lessons while learning so much about riding safely and the care of each horse. While we are all equal in the quality of lessons we receive, Sherry professionally works to meet our individual needs. She values the quality of knowledge we maintain about all aspects of the stables, from riding, care of the horses, staying safe, working with the horses, working with each other while building self confidence and what it takes to be the best you can. Each of us can proudly say that we are pleased in our level of growth and hope to work with Sherry for a long time to come.

I would like to take this opportunity to speak about Burnt Meadow Stables as the business. We learned about the stables through word of mouth and reputation. It is a highly respected business throughout the surrounding communities. The helpers are very friendly and willing to take time to help as needed wile explaining any questions asked of them. Sherry is an excellent rider as well as a teacher. She is very passionate about both her horses and teaching. We love to walk around and admire all the pictures and success stories that speak through them. The stables provide safe and secure housing for each animal and the pastures are beautiful. I have the opportunity to walk through the trails and fields as my friends are enjoying their lessons. I have been invited to share sleigh rides through the fields which Shery offers each year. Just one more reflection of who Sherry is as a person and business women. It is important to also understand that each lesson is filled with knowledge and opportunity. Sherry takes each lesson very seriously and you learn to respect even the smallest piece of knowledge being taught. She does not take her teaching lightly and is committed to you and your growth.
